The Fateful Youth project is a huge creative collaboration that spans 6 mediums and over 70 creatives to compose a whole new artform — and with it launch the first live action NFT drop to hit the metaverse. Each unique avatar comes with an editorialized storytelling accompaniment and production credits written into its code. The project champions emerging and underserved creatives incentivized with ownership, and is pursuing a pioneering cross-chain NFT drop structure that leverages Ethereum and Solana simultaneously.

We live in a delicate balance with our planet, and every day we get closer to the tipping point. The environment can’t hold. Some say it’s already too late. We need fundamental shifts to create new systems that replace our broken ones to survive. The youth of today will face this dilemma —  one with fatal consequences. 

Fateful Youth is an experiment in art, culture, and community. It’s a call to action in the metaverse that signals alarm about conditions in our physical world. It’s a challenge to the status quo of NFTs and its dull, one-dimensional simulacra. It’s about empowering collaborators and participants equitably, and supporting Pencils for Promise, a non-profit that builds schools in developing nations.

Fateful Youth is partnering with Pencils of Promise, a non-profit that builds schools in developing nations. Fateful Youth is committed to donating $150k over the following twelve months to Pencils of Promise, which will be directed towards the construction of approximately three schools.

A core mission of Fateful Youth is to drive action from the metaverse into the real world, action that empowers communities to build according to congruous visions like audacity, learning, transparency, and community.

Pencils of Promise is the first of many organizations Fateful Youth intends to support in service of converting art into action and proving the multifaceted value that NFTs can bring into the world — be it the digital realm or the one we all already share.  

THE CREATORS

Galen Oakes is a photographer, visual creative, and entrepreneur. His work captures moments in a distinct, vibrant pantone of colors populated by subversive subjects in surrealist worlds. His portfolio features iconic imagery captured over a 15-year career on the moon-like deserts of Burning Man and the world’s biggest stages at Coachella, along with provocative, surrealist fashion spreads, and intimate portrait work with the likes of Freddie Gibbs for Mixmag.

Fateful Youth is Galen’s most ambitious project to date. It mutates aesthetics drawn from contemporary fashion, music, and futurism through high production value and cutting-edge digital effects to create NFTs that blend the physical with the digital in a meaningful way.

The Scan Truck, described as a "3D scanning spaceship on wheels," is a pioneering mobile photogrammetry studio founded by Jiggs Love & Vladimir Galat. The Scan Truck offers the most cutting edge technologies  and over 200 DSLR cameras to deliver the highest quality 3D assets for feature films, VR productions, video games, and television. The Scan Truck's eye-popping list of credits includes  films like Dune, multiple Marvel films including Avengers: Endgame and collaborations with artists like Lil Nas X, and the Grand Theft Auto game series.

THE STYLISTS

Camila Romero
Camila was born in Colombia and has established herself within the fashion community in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, California. This young creative stylist is also the co-founder and designer at Deadblud. After competing on HBO the Hype a fashion competition, Camila’s style focuses on a futuristic and edgy aesthetic. Pushing the boundaries to eliminate gender norms and striving to normalize androgynous fashion.
Kailee Takashima
Kailee Takashima is a stylist and artist born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Kailee’s infatuation with music and history infiltrates all of her creative expressions with a sense of timelessness and kinetic energy. As a stylist, she specifically finds fulfillment in supporting artists in their journey to their greatest expression. This has led to a styling career primarily working with musicians like Kali Uchis and Silksonic and partnering with brands like Highsnobiety, Adidas, and Nike to tell the stories of movers and shakers in culture.
Alex Cookie Leon
Alex Cookie Leon is a Southern California based Fashion Stylist, Designer, and Creative Director specializing in the festival and music world. Her most recent endeavor is co-creating her clothing line, Wild Lions, with husband and Desert Hearts Co-Founder, Mikey Lion.
Lyn Alyson
After spending years touring and doing music myself, I found a real love for fashion. I have a special love for working with musicians and helping them create the visions they see. I live to push the edge and go somewhere no one has gone before. What fun is it if everyone else is doing it the same?

Paul Plastic AKA Paul Rosas bends the rules of visual reality as an FX artist across photography, video, and 3D rendering. His work blends objects into textures and colors into sensations, all as part of an exploration of psychedelia and dream worlds through 3D renders.

With no limits to either their imagination — or their ability to bring those fantastic, neon-clad visions to reality — Maktive has become synonymous with immersive environments that transport the audience to a different plane, one that's more colorful, surreal, and brilliant than anything the real world has to offer.
